Shannon began working at OSF HealthCare in 2017 in the orthopedic department. She is happy to work with people who have orthopedic needs such as total joint replacements. Helping someone in so much pain receive a new joint is incredibly rewarding.
"During an appointment, I want patients to be open and honest and connect with me and know that I am here to help them and answer their questions," she said. "I want my patients to feel comfortable and know they can reach out if they have any concerns."
Shannon knew from a young age that she would pursue a career in medicine. Her mom is a nurse and would bring Shannon to work with her to help the activity staff interact with patients. She enjoyed listening to the patients, and it became a part of who she is and understands the importance of helping others.
Shannon grew up in Streator, and although she went away for college, she returned to her hometown. The people are kind and caring and appreciate the little things that a provider can offer. She likes being involved with local school sports and helping the athletes in her community. In her free time, she enjoys reading good books and spending time with her fiancé.
