Born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, Dr. Mowakeaa knows the importance of a tight-knit community.
"I have come to appreciate the immense value of interacting and contributing to the growth of our local communities," he said.
Dr. Mowakeaa says he chose the path of cardiology to make a difference.
"I was eager to make a difference in the world we live in. I was drawn to medicine to be able to provide passionate care and genuine support to patients in need.
"Being able to impact the quality of life in patients with cardiovascular disease is extremely gratifying and is why I will continue to pursue excellence in delivering high quality care," Dr. Mowakeaa said. "I am driven and motivated everyday knowing I will be able to have a positive impact on patients' lives and their wellbeing.
Dr. Mowakeaa enjoys photography and numerous sports, including running, soccer and table tennis.
"I particularly enjoy taking part in charity races where I can give back to the community while remaining fit and active."
Dr. Mowakeaa is married and has two children.
"We look forward to participating in various family activities in the Rockford community."
