Kayla grew up in Bloomington, Illinois, and she likes the close-knit feel of the small communities in the Illinois River valley where she believes "people come together to help each other during difficult times."
For her, OSF HealthCare is a perfect match. As a teen, she was diagnosed with a potentially fatal congenital heart condition that caused her to lose her breath easily. She had to have open heart surgery at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, and the care she received made a big impression on her.
"The compassionate care shown to me by the incredible medical team inspired me to pursue a career in medicine," she said. "The Mission, Values and Vision of OSF HealthCare are aligned closely with my personal values. I believe in compassionate, Christ-centered care for my patients."
Kayla is passionate about empowering women to take control of their lives and their own health. She loves educating women about changes that may occur throughout their life and emphasizing the importance of preventative care.
"My approach to care involves having an open and honest dialogue with my patient. I take the time to listen to their concerns and come up with a treatment plan that suits their unique needs."
She is married and has two sons. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, being outdoors and traveling.
