A native Peorian, John says he became a cardiologist because it allowed him to put his interest in science and medicine to good use- helping people who need it most by taking a critical situation and improving it.
John received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Northwestern University where he participated in intravascular ultrasound research endeavors, and completed his fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.
Since joining OSF Cardiovascular Institute in 1996, Dr. Rashid has served as a clinical assistant professor at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Peoria. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Rashid and his wife are the proud parents of triplets (Jacob, Zachary, and Sarah), born on Thanksgiving 2000. When he does have free time, he enjoys exercising, attending estate sales, and collecting oriental rugs, and fishing.
