Dr. Jacob was born in raised in Qatar. Both of his parents were physicians and influenced his decision to pursue a career in medicine, and he believes his practice pushes him to be his best.
"I love my practice, he said. Intellectually, it motivates me to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in medicine, which continues to fascinate me every day. Spiritually, I believe it fosters an attitude of humility, positivity and care for others. The demands of work and the knowledge of my own health help me stay fit physically."
The culture and values of OSF HealthCare fill well with Dr. Jacob's attitude toward serving others. Plus, the relationship among his team makes him excited to go to work every morning. He loves performing as an outpatient and intensive care physician in the Intensive Care Unit at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
For him, it's all about identifying each patient's unique needs and meeting those needs. "I strive to provide respectful and responsive care to individual preferences and values while assisting patients in guiding clinical decisions," he said. "I hope this can be done compassionately and will help improve their health, well-being and quality of life."
Dr. Jacob is married to an endocrinologist and the couple have four sons. In his spare time he likes reading, traveling and doing handy activities like home improvement projects.
