Dr. Ujayli grew in Syria in a family overwhelmingly dedicated to health care. It was that call to serve others that helped with his decision to join OSF HealthCare. I watched my father, my uncles, my great uncles, my brothers, and my cousins enter the medical field, and I wanted to serve as they did, Dr. Ujayli said. I suppose medicine is in my family's genes. The decision to join the OSF HealthCare team was easy. I identify with the OSF HealthCare Mission to prioritize both the quality and equality of care to all patients seeking medical help. It was the opportunity to save lives that drove Dr. Ujayli to specialize in heart care. Heart disease is the number one cause of death, making the specialty vital to many people. During appointments, Dr. Ujayli is eager to hear his patients' perspectives. He believes medicine is a partnership, with patient and doctor working together to reach shared health care decisions. Dr. Ujayli is blessed with his wife, Randa, and his twin girls, Laila and Zaina. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling and swimming.
